There’s a view of sexual ethics that almost everyone in the modern west says they adopt, especially when they’re disagreeing with people who have a more conservative sexual ethics. But almost no one really adopts this view. In fact, formulating a view of sexual ethics that’s in accordance with common sense is surprisingly difficult.
