Ranking The Best Charities
Some of them at least
It’s rare that one tries to rank the effectiveness of very different kinds of charities. Doing so is kind of irresponsible, as it’s hard to ascertain the value of very different kinds of philanthropic endeavors. But doing so is potentially informative, as it’s useful to figure out what charity is best, so that you can then give it lots of money!
What I thought I’d do is include a ranking of some of the best charities, put it behind a paywall, and then give the money I raised to the named effective charities. I’ll give $70 to effective charities for each paid subscriber I get from this article. Also, happy to give out free paid subscriptions if people sign up to give at least $30 a month to effective charities or make an upfront payment of at least $500 to them.
