The most common blog-related question people ask me, other than “how are you sooooo good looking?” “are you Bentham’s Bulldog,” and “what the fuck is the self-indication assumption,” is “how do you write so many goddamn articles.” I write about an article a day, and have maintained this pace roughly since the start of the blog. Blogging is not a full-time job for me—I probably spend about two hours per day blogging—so how do I do this?
I think that almost everyone should be able to maintain a decently active blog—say, to produce an article a week. There are some common errors that make it hard to do this, but insofar as one does the things I recommend so as to avoid the errors, they should be able to blog as frequently as Mike Huemer, at the very least. People often spend many days working on a bit of writing of only a few thousand words—if one is approaching writing properly, this should never happen, barring exceptional circumstances.
