Agreed!

Would add one additional expectation: in addition to funds one should give their time to worthy causes. Charities are more effective when there’s more doers.

As for the grand idea people who make all these vapid virtue signaling statements, weed them out with Rule One: those who don’t do don’t get a say.

For anyone who hates the EA movement and wants to spite them, a great way to do that would be to give 9% of your income to suboptimal charities such as GiveDirectly.
