I've only read the intro, favourite quote so far: "love thy neighbor means love thy statistic"

Non-ironically, I believe that EA concepts are particularly attractive to Evangelical Christians. Most Evangelical churches already put a heavy emphasis on the concept of mission, that we should be always oriented towards saving souls. This leads to a lot of emphasis on how to spread the gospel effectively and a deep sense of duty to help others. It is easy for those same concepts to be applied to more traditional EA concerns; like, treat saving lives like saving souls. There is already a lot of infrastructure in place for this, as there are prominent Evangelical nonprofits who are focused on providing food, clothing, education, and disaster relief to the global poor, like World Vision, Samaritan’s Purse, or Compassion International. The main work to be done with Evangelicals is to teach about the Effective part, they’re already mentally situated for the Altruism part.
