Bentham's Bulldog Turns One
On this day, one year ago, my first article was released, and this bIog was created
As the title suggests, Bentham’s Bulldog turns one today. Over the course of this year, I’ve gotten 362 subscribers—almost exactly one per day, on average—and have probably gotten around 100,000 total article reads. Over the course of this year, I think I’ve gotten a lot less confused about various things—I recently rewatched my first conversation with Richard Chappell, and it was very clear that I was utterly confused about the subject matter.
Thanks for reading everyone. If you like the blog, I’d encourage you to share it with others. I’d also encourage you to do that if you don’t like the blog, but you’d presumably be less likely to do it in that case. When I started this blog, I talked mostly about utilitarianism—my first 20 or so articles were about utilitarianism. My next set of articles were mostly about philosophy of religion—I got a bit hooked on it. However, that’s died down—now, my articles are generally about various social and political issues. Occasionally, I’ll still talk about philosophy of religion, but it’s pretty rare.
I’ve already detailed the history of the blog to some degree, so I won’t do it more here. Though rereading it, I realized I only had around 200 subscribers at that point, and that was only around two months ago. I’ve nearly doubled my readership in the last two months. If my readership doubles every two months, then in around two years, the entire world will read my blog. That would be nice!
Excited to continue writing Bentham’s Bulldog!
It's not about 1 per day, one per day would be 365 subscribers. Instead, you had 362, which is fewer than 365, and so they are not about the same. I should have expected such foolish comments from you, Bentham's Newsletter. I bet you extract pizzas from the oven and become confused that they have become warm (when in fact it is not confusing, because ovens generally warm things put inside them).
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!
